Shemar Moore Workout

The Shemar Moore Workout is all about getting shape to play Derek Morgan on the hit show, Criminal Minds. Being Special Agent Derek Morgan requires a lot of time in the gym. Much effort on Shemar’s is required to get the body he needs. Playing an ex-Marine, ex-SWAT character Shemar Moore has to look and act the part.

To do this, he runs, lifts weights, and goes bike riding on a weekly basis. This is all on top of the typical 15-hour work day, when he is filming for Criminal Minds. In order to guarantee he stays in shape, he got his network to make an on-site gym. When it is not his scene, he can be found working out in a trailer-turned-gym.

Shemar Moore has to work out hard to fit his role. He says:

What I love about Criminal Minds is that Morgan is an ex-marine, ex-SWAT. To do those things you have to be a pretty bad-ass dude. It’s a great incentive to stay in shape.

Moore also loves having a personal trainer:

When you have a trainer, you don’t have to think about nothing. When you work out by yourself, your breaks take a little bit longer, and you watch more TV than you’re supposed to.

  1. Now on Thursday did you put wrong thing because it says. ” strength/running workout” but then to put 2 hr cycling ?

    • Fixed. Thanks. Shemar Moore says he typically rides (cycling) for 300 miles a week, including Thursday as one of those days. On the other days, he goes running to change things up and not get bored of the same thing. Find whatever cardio activities you love, and have fun! (I’m into HIIT cardio and kettlebells right now!)
