Julianne shared an Instagram of her favorite juice drink. She calls it the Apple Ginger Juice Delight. The Apple Ginger Juice Delight healthy recipe needs:

  • 1 Red/Green Apple (Juiced)
  • 3 Small Carrots (Juiced)
  • 1 Lemon (Juiced)
  • 1/2 inch sliver of ginger (to taste)
  • 2 Celery Sticks (Optional)

Julianne Hough was slammed by the tabloids for her weight gain in 2012-2013. Partying in L.A., dating bad boy Ryan Seacrest and drinking alcohol all sparked her weight gain. Julianne told SELF Magazine:

I stopped dancing, I did Burlesque, I was busy, I was writing, so I never prioritized time to work out. And, I still ate whatever I wanted so I gained 20 pounds just like that.

Although Julianne admitted to gaining 20 pounds, she always has a plan in place, saying:

I distribute my weight evenly. I look like I’ve gained 5 pounds, but I’ve really gained 20. The first thing I do is cut out alcohol, I stop the sugar and flour-based carbs. I’ll add a protein shake here and maybe a green shake the next.

Although seemingly happy with her new-found curves, she eventually felt pressure to lose weight. During her SELF interview, she said:

It was really tough because I was still doing red carpets and people would comment. I was like holy crap, what’s going on? Then, I was like ‘You know what, I want to go back to Julianne.’

The 5’3″ beauty decided to eliminate sugar and flour from her diet. She switched to a high-protein, low-carb diet.

I ate a lot of protein, and no sugar. Everything gluten-free. But, I had meals all day: Juices, protein bars and energy drinks that were really great.

If I’m hungry or thirsty, I don’t always know which I am. I just know I’m craving something. So, I do an iced herbal tea. And almonds, always. I cut up vegetables, put apple cider vinegar on them, or snack on some hummus.

  1. Drink herbal iced tea with stevia sweetener, while others are enjoying a soda or cocktail.
  2. Spray lemon juice on your vegetables to help bring out their flavor.

  4. Throw spinach in your smoothies, because it’s full of nutrition, but you can barely taste it.
  5. Avoid salt, in order to avoid bloating up like a balloon. Instead, douse your nuts and veggies with apple cider vinegar.
