The Channing Tatum workout varies from movie to movie. In the movie Fighter, Channing Tatum is looking for a fat burning, abs sculpting workout. Other times, like in the movie G.I. Joe: Retaliation, the Channing Tatum workout is about muscle building. In Magic Mike, Channing Tatum had to focus heavily on both.

Channing Tatum Workout

Here is a look at the workout Channing Tatum workout he used for Fighter. Channing Tatum worked with New York based trainer William J. Harris. Surprisingly, the Channing Tatum workout lasts only 30-45 minutes. Trainer William J. Harris says this is all your body needs. He says the secret to a lean body is proper diet. For Fighter, Channing Tatum was given four exercises per day, to do in a circuit. The catch, is that he had to perform the same circuit, over and over, for 30 minutes

This includes a 5-minute warm up, and a 5-minute cool down in the workout plan. This is to ensure Channing drives his body into the fat burning region (different person to person).  Channing Tatum also did 2 hours of fight training for the movie Fighter before performing these workouts.

Make sure to get a Jump Rope (here on Amazon for example) for your jumping rope workouts. They’re how Channing Tatum gets his heart going, and blood pumping for his workouts. Tatum says he takes an athletic approach to his workouts. He wants to have a reason (motivation) for the muscle-building workouts he does.

I want to be the best athlete I can possibly be. When I look at the NFL or the NBA, those guys are how I want to look. Usable, functional muscles. I don’t workout just because ‘I want my chest bigger,’ or because ‘I want to get huge arms.’

Now it’s time to look at Channing Tatum’s Tuesday workout.

  1. HI! I’m 5’9, 148lbs with about 21% body fat. I want to get lean with more muscle definition and bring the body fat percentage down so the abs look good. Should I follow the Channing workout or the Arrow one? There are so many options that I’m a bit confused.

    • The best workout for you is the one that you enjoy. That doesn’t mean the one that’s easy–it means the one that you can find yourself sticking to long-term. Try them both, see which one you like. The Channing Tatum workout might be a good place to start. Put your effort into it, then switch when you feel ready for a new program.
