Britney Spears revealed her actual fitness plan by releasing a 2-week workout diary. Britney first shared this workout diary in the January/February 2015 issue Women’s Health.


The Britney Spears workout routine changes on a daily basis. With so many different workouts, Britney finds the one that best fits her mood. By changing it up, there’s no reason to get bored by sticking to the same routine.


Britney shared her fitness routine, and now it’s time to try some of her workouts yourself. Straight from her Women’s Health workout journal, here’s the Britney Spears 2-week workout routine. (Britney revealed her workout so she could cross-promote her new sleepwear line).

Britney Spears Workout Routine: Week 1

  1. At-Home Cardio (45 min)
  2. Drenched Fitness (1 hour)
  3. Swimming Laps (30 min)
  4. Drenched Fitness (1 hour)
  5. Dance Rehearsal (90 min)
  6. Drenched + Swimming (90 min)
  7. At-Home Cardio (45 m)

  1. Power Yoga (1 hour)
  2. Drenched Fitness (1 hour)
  3. Swimming/Hiking (1.5 hours)
  4. Drenched Fitness (1 hour)
  5. Chasing Kids (all day)
  6. Drenched + Swimming (90 min)
  7. At-Home Cardio (45 m)

At-Home Cardio Workout

Britney Spears uses her at-home cardio workout when she doesn’t feel like leaving the house. She says:

Heading to my home gym to kick off the week right. I like my workouts to be effective in a short amount of time. I start with 20 minutes of intense cardio, usually running. then I move onto light weights; bodyweight exercises such as push-ups, squats and situps; then finish it off with a stretch.


Whether she’s busy with the kids, or just doesn’t want to make it out in public, it’s nice to have a method of doing cardio in your own home. On the final day of her workout journal, Britney showcases the utility of having an at-home cardio routine, saying:

I let myself sleep in this morning. the busy week and hot sun kind of took it out of me. Looking forward to the peacefulness of my workout.

If you don’t have a treadmill or other exercise machine, you can always use a workout DVD. Turbofire and Insanity are two of the most popular at-home cardio workouts for women.

Drenched Fitness: HIIT & Circuit Training

Drenched Fitness is a class Britney takes where they alternate every 15 minutes between HIIT cardio and circuit training. By switching the routine up every 15 minutes, it keeps the routine fun. Even if Britney isn’t feeling 100%, the group atmosphere often compels her to go.

Hit a wall this morning…I’m tired! But I powered through the class, and I feel great!

I love this class. It’s high-energy and combines treadmill work with circuit training. Being in a group setting pushes me to work harder.

Swimming: Britney Spears Workout Routine

Swimming is another key activity used in the Britney Spears workout routine. She likes to swim laps to keep track of her progress. Britney tends to swim for 30 minutes. Britney says:

Forty laps down! Swimming always gets my heart rate up.


Sometimes, she adds a Drenched Fitness class or hiking to her routine. Combining a day of swimming with hiking, Britney says:

Hitting the pool to get in my laps, then a hike in Malibu. The scenery makes the time go by quickly. I always forget what a great workout hiking is until i get home and my legs are sore!

Besides hiking, Britney recently went birthday horseback riding with new boyfriend Charlie Ebersol.

Britney Spears: Dance Rehearsals

Even if she’s on break from her live show in Las Vegas, Britney still puts time in doing dance rehearsals. This way she gets to work and work out at the same time. Britney loves dance workouts, and says:

Dancing is a great cardio workout–tough and fun at the same time.

Britney calls some of her dancers over to exercise along with her. By committing to group with her dancers, Britney has added workout motivation to exercise for the day:

We’re on a break from my Vegas show. I like to run through the choreography to keep it fresh in my mind.


Britney Spears: HIIT & Swimming Workout

Time to kick it into overdrive: two workouts today. I feel amazing. Swimming really relaxes me after doing that super-high energy workout at Drenched. I’m going to sleep well tonight!

Britney Spears height is 5’4″ (164 cm). Britney now weighs 125 pounds (65 kg). She lost 10 pounds (4.5 kg) in preparation for her Las Vegas Pieces of Me show, in 2013.
